Are You Planning A Great Father's Day For Your Husband Who Loves Athletics?

While some of your friends' husbands love to watch sports on TV, is your husband the kind of person who actually likes to participate in everything from bike riding to playing football with some of his buddies? If so, you might be thinking of things that are related to sports when you shop for his Father's Day presents. From selecting long sleeve performance shirts to planning a great event for this Father's Day, here are some ideas that might help you.

Long Sleeve Performance Shirts - Does your husband already own a number of long sleeve performance shirts? If he does, he probably selected them because they are wrinkle resistant and because they have a moisture-wicking feature. Of course, the fact that they look great on a guy probably factors into the reason your husband has bought that type of shirt, too. And, you may love them because they wash and dry well.

Maybe the shirts he has have seen too much wear. If so, consider replacing some of them with new ones of the same type. Consider a layering look. For example, start with a pullover shirt and then buy a button-down one that your husband can wear with it. That won't just look nice, but it will mean that the button down shirt can act as a light jacket for chilly mornings and evenings.

Another idea is to buy a hoodie. Think of buying both the long sleeve T-shirt and the button-down shirt in complementary colors. For example, choose light blue for the T-shirt and a darker shade of the same blue for the button-down easy care shirt. Then choose a totally different color for the hoodie, just to give some contrast to the outfit. For example, yellow would be one good color choice for the hoodie. Black or navy blue are other good options for the hoodie.

A Special Event - Do you also enjoy sports? Maybe you love bike riding, for example. If so, consider giving your husband a special event gift where he can wear his new clothes. The promise of an early morning bike ride that includes a breakfast picnic would probably be a very welcome gift on Father's Day.

Another idea is to give your husband tickets to a special event, maybe a basketball game that includes his favorite team playing right in your home town. Make the gift a sweeter one by purchasing a ticket for yourself.
